Starting the week beginning 15th November, all pupils will be taking part in a Health and Well-being survey in their PE lesson in the ICT rooms. In light of this we need to inform parents of what is going on and the rationale behind it.
It is a national study conducted by Cardiff University that looks at a variety of subject areas that could affect a young person's health and wellbeing. This could be how much exercise they are getting on a weekly basis to how they are feeling emotionally when it comes to exam pressures. The survey is completely anonymously, and pupils can opt out of certain questions at any time throughout the process.
Mr Jones will be delivering assemblies all next week to year 7-11 to discuss in more detail what the survey is used for and how the data from it can help to identify and improve a young person's health and wellbeing.
There is a link below to a letter from Cardiff University that explains what the survey is all about. This is in both Welsh and English.
If you wish for your son/daughter to opt out of the survey then please let the school know as soon as possible.
Below is a short video to explain what the survey is all about and how the data is used.
