Role of the governors
The Governors have a general responsibility for the effective oversight of the management of the school, and for determining the policies, within a framework set by national legislation. Governors can be contacted through the school. Governors of schools in Wales are responsible for the conduct of the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement.
The role of the governing body is:
• To provide a strategic view of where the school is heading
• To act as a critical friend by providing support and advice to the school
• To hold the school to account for the educational standards it achieves and the quality of the education it provides.
