Attendance

Parents have a legal duty to make sure that their children are properly educated.  Regular attendance means that pupils should be in school from Monday to Friday during the hours of 8.50am-3.20pm. If your child is unable to attend, please ring the school on 01978 720700 before 8.50am and report the absence.

The Welsh Government is very keen to discourage holidays during term time.  As a school, we are put under great pressure, at local and national level, to improve our pupils’ attendance.  We appreciate that holidays are far cheaper in term time, and we have every sympathy with families.  We also understand that parents have their annual leave set by their employers and can only take their holidays at set times.

Holiday forms are available from Achievement Coordinators, however we strongly recommend that holidays are taken within the statutory periods.  If holidays are taken without consent, then absences will be marked as ‘Unauthorised’ on the child’s report at the end of the year.

Absence is monitored very closely and we expect all pupils to achieve a minimum of 97% attendance.

School Uniform

We expect that pupils and students take pride in their appearance and look smart at all times.
