Amelia Marshall

Alumni Spotlight: Amelia Marshall

From Ysgol Bryn Alyn to some of the UK's most prestigious performance venues, Amelia Marshall is building an exciting career in the world of theatre and live events.

After leaving YBA, Amelia followed her passion for technical theatre, studying Technical Theatre at LIPA Sixth Form College before progressing to Rose Bruford College, where she is currently studying Creative Lighting Control.

Reflecting on her time at Ysgol Bryn Alyn, Amelia recognises the important role that her teachers played in helping her pursue her ambitions.

"During my time at Ysgol Bryn Alyn, the support I received from the Physics and Maths departments, along with so many other teachers, helped me believe in myself and encouraged me to keep pushing towards my goals. I wouldn't be where I am today without their encouragement."

Since leaving school, Amelia has already gained invaluable industry experience and taken advantage of opportunities that have helped shape her career. Highlights include travelling to Barcelona for an industry event and working at the world-renowned Royal Opera House.

Her journey demonstrates how combining technical knowledge, creativity and determination can lead to exciting opportunities within the performing arts industry.

Looking ahead, Amelia hopes to continue expanding her experience in live entertainment and is aiming to work on a cruise ship next summer, taking her skills to venues and audiences around the world.

Amelia's advice for current students is simple but powerful:

"Never let anyone tell you that you can't achieve something. Work hard, take every opportunity that comes your way, and believe in yourself. You never know where those opportunities might lead."

Amelia's story is a wonderful reminder that success often comes from embracing opportunities, trusting your abilities and having the confidence to pursue a path that excites you.

We are incredibly proud of everything Amelia has achieved so far and look forward to following her journey as she continues to make her mark in the world of theatre and live events.

From the classrooms of YBA to the bright lights of the stage, Amelia's future is shining brightly.

Once a YBA'er, always a YBA'er.
