Ysgol Bryn Alyn students unite for Show Racism the Red Card Wales

Students and staff at Ysgol Bryn Alyn came together this week in a striking show of solidarity and support for Show Racism the Red Card Wales, with the school turning into a “sea of red” as part of a day dedicated to promoting equality, inclusion and respect.

Pupils and staff wore red to demonstrate their commitment to challenging racism and celebrating the diversity that strengthens both the school and the wider community.

Throughout the day, students engaged in discussions and activities designed to encourage understanding, challenge prejudice and reinforce the importance of treating everyone with dignity and respect.

The event formed part of the school’s ongoing commitment to creating a safe, inclusive environment where every young person feels valued and empowered to make a positive difference.

Headteacher Adele Slinn said: “We are incredibly proud of the way our students embraced this important event. Wearing red is a powerful symbol, but the real impact comes from the conversations, understanding and actions that follow. Our young people continue to demonstrate the values of kindness, respect and inclusion, and today showed just how strongly our school community stands together against racism in all its forms.”

“The day was met with enthusiastic support from students and staff, with the message clear throughout the school: racism has no place in Ysgol Bryn Alyn, in Wrexham, or in society.

“By standing together and speaking out against discrimination, the school hopes to inspire young people to continue championing equality and creating a more inclusive future for all.

“Unedig rydyn ni’n gryfach – together we are stronger.”
